NT-PROBNP Dinner

Jointly organized by Roche, Singapore Cardiology Society and Society for Emergency Medicine in Singapore, this event was held on 21 July 2007 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
A/Prof Lim Swee Han, Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Emergency Medicine, SGH, gave us an introduction to the use of NT-proBNP as a diagnostic tool in the emergency department. This was followed by Dr Richard William Troughton, Consultant Cardiologist in Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand, also a senior lecturer from the University Department of Medicine, Christchurch School of Medicine & Health Sciences; he gave an in depth look into the use of NT-proBNP in the prognosis and management of congestive cardiac failure.
The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner and the event was well attended by emergency physicians from our various local departments.
