Andy Jagoda

 

 

 

Andy Jagoda, MD, is Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York.   Dr. Jagoda received his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1982, and completed his emergency medicine residency at the Georgetown/George Washington/MIEMMS joint program in 1985.  He spent 9 years in the Navy after which he was first faculty at the George Washington University, and then at the University of Florida; he came to Mount Sinai in 1995.  He is nationally recognized for his involvement in emergency medicine education and for his work in the areas of neurologic emergencies.  He has published extensively, and has co-edited several books including the Saunders’ textbook Emergency Medicine.  He authored the Good Housekeeping book of First Aid, and co-authored Mosby’s book, Neuologic Emergencies.  He is on the editorial board of the Annals of Emergency Medicine and he is the Editor-in-chief of a monthly publication, Emergency Medicine Practice.  He is the past chair of the ACEP Clinical Policies Committee, and the EMS Medical Director for the Brain Trauma Foundation.  Dr. Jagoda is a member of the Executive Committee of the Brain Attack Coalition at the National Institute of Neurologic Diseases and Stroke.   He is on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Education and Research in Neurologic Emergencies. Dr. Jagoda is the ACEP ambassador to Italy and has been involved in the development of emergency medicine in Italy, Holland, and Chile.

 

 

 

 

Bret Nelson

 

 

 

Dr. Nelson is the director of emergency ultrasound and associate residency director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He received his medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook and completed his emergency medicine residency training at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.

He has lectured throughout the United States and Europe and earned teaching awards from Harvard Medical School and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is coauthor of Manual of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound  and Emergency Medicine Oral Board Review Illustrated (Cambridge University Press). He has published a number of articles and book chapters; his research interests include ultrasound, medical education, and asthma.

 

 

 

Luca Neri

 

 

 

Dr. Luca Neri is the president of WINFOCUS Group aim to promote incorporation of point-of-care ultrasound into critical practice. After obtaining his basic medical degree from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Agostino Gemelli, Rome in 1993, Dr. Neri completed a Diploma in Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, from LIverpool University, UK,  and is trained in Emergency Surgery and Trauma Surgery from Università degli Studi di Siena, Siena, Italy, Anaesthesia & Intensive Care from “Università degli Studi di Milano, Milan, Italy and Emergency Ultrasound& Critical and emergency care from University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Iuliu Hatieganu” Cluj Napoca, Romania. Over the past years, Dr. Neri has travelled around the globe giving talks and seminars on applications of ultrasonography in the Emergency Departments. Dr. Neri ‘s publications on ultrasonography were found in various reputable medical journals and has co-authored in Prehospital Ultrasound Applications, in Emergency Ultrasound from McGraw Hill.

 

 

 

 

Colin E. Robertson

 

 

 

Dr Robertson is an Emergency Physician of international standing. He is a well-published academician and an accomplished researcher with a special interest in Cardiopulmonary and Trauma Resuscitation. He is the lead clinician for a multidisciplinary team of doctors, mathematicians, physicists and biomedical engineers conducting important basic research into the pathophysiology of cardiac arrest and ventricular fibrillation, with grant funding in excess of 1.6 million pounds. Dr Robertson’s achievements as an academic include many original articles on Advanced Life Support, emergency cardiac care and basic science of dysarrhythmias. He was the European Editor of the Journal of Resuscitation. He is also the author of several familiar emergency medicine textbooks. Dr Robertson is an examiner with MRCP, FRCS (A&E) and MBChB and an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
