TRAUMA MANAGEMENT FOR NURSES AND PARAMEDICS
Trauma is the 5th
leading cause of death and the primary reason for hospitalization in
Singapore. Especially in this day and age of industrialization and the
threat of terrorism, there is a need to refocus our attention and energy
to this single most devastating event that can occur in everyday life.
As part of the front-line emergency medical
services in Singapore, the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF)
paramedics and Emergency Department Nurses manage trauma victims during
the initial phases of the injuries.
What we do at that time
could make a difference to the morbidity and mortality of the injured
person.
The
inaugural
trauma workshop is primarily targeted at the working paramedics and
nurses. It will be a full day session filled with the talks,
demonstrations and hands-on sessions.

on field management of multi-trauma patient by the SCDF paramedics

Trauma management in
Chemical Agent/ hazardous conditions

Practical sessions
on ABCs of trauma management including airway and circulatory
interventions

Group interaction in
initial trauma casualty management
